Kikrusher99's Fire Promoter ideas
So im trying to figure out the best way of
1. Deciding which promotions I want in my world
2. How to draft wrestlers
3. How to utilize legends and freelance wrestlers and how to keep it balanced.
For promotions, I'm thinking about trying to get a semi equal spread per territory. For the WWE, I'm still kicking around the idea of 3 separate promotions in raw, sd and nxt. However, I figure if I made them all one single promotion, it would be a super indy, basically.
Also, 3 promotions would kinda kill my equality idea. With 16 promotions, that's basically 3 in Japan, 3 in Mexico, 3 in Europe, 3 in America, and then the list 4 being a split of free and legend wrestlers/promotions.
Promtions I'm considering
America
- WWE
-PWG
-ROH
-CZW or GCW
-AAW
Mexico
-CMLL
-AAA
-The Crash
Europe
-Progress
-Rev Pro
-wXw
Japan
-NJPW
-AJPW
-Noah
-BJW
Legend promotions
-FMW ECW mix
-WWF
For trying to draft wrestlers, other than sitting down... well shit, the random select in World stinks. I honestly don't know how ill do a draft. Maybe I'll just place everybody wherever I see fit.
I do want to keep it somewhat equal, at least from the start. I'm not wanting to have super stacked rosters (my wwe dilemma) with all top guys that will dominate early.
And lastly, I want to have some creative freedom like say Cena could end up in AJPW or something like having Hayabusa in NJPW tagging with Liger or FMW guys either paired up with ECW guys or maybe BJW.
So if anybody has any ideas, I'm all ears. It will probably be easier once we actually have the mode to play with, but I'm having fun coming up with scenarios and thinking of new places for old guys.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
I'm also curious what people are thinking about doing for tag teams. From what I remember of the old MOTR mode, there weren't any set tag teams, and getting both partners on the same show could be difficult if trying to steal them from another promotion. I'd hope spike has considered this.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
Compiled a list of all WWE personnel that ill wanna use. It's pretty big, and I might wanna cut some names but idk what tag teams in this game will look like.
Seems too big to be manageable.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
I've been thinking about making a thread for rosters. Here's what I've cooked up for a mid-late 90s roster setup:
There will probably some wrestler switching around and into the FREELANCE section. AJPW and NJPW will be oriented towards their FPG roster.

See, but looking at fmw/wing and based on what I've heard from listening to the history of fmw pod, time frames can change things drastically. Pogo left to wing but then came back. Leatherface and the headhunters too.
My dilemma is the amount of promtions vs where wrestlers were at the time vs where I want them.
I'm really over thinking this whole thing.

Think you got it right on the last line. I'd always err on the side of "where I want them" in your dilemma. Make the promotions you want to use and compete with, instead of seeking outright accuracy. Granted, that's how I'd do it, and everyone has their own preferences, but from what I'm reading here, you're more in my camp.

Could a mod/software be made that pulls your Workshop subs/edits and then randomizes them there? Perhaps even filing them into separate federations from the get go?

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
Damned of I know, I'm code illiterate. But it sounds easy enough to be done.
I want a base of reality with sprinkles of what if scenarios and 420 booking. I know it will get wild, and that's what I'm looking for. I'm not a stickler on time frames or boarders as if love to book Super Dragon vs Hayabusa in FMW or Cena vs Misawa in AJPW.
Guerre Sans Frontières is my ideology. Translates to war without boarders. I take this from a PWG show but also the similar ideology that Big Boss is all about in Metal Gear Solid; Militaires Sans Frontières, military without boarders.
Nothing is impossible, anybody can rise to the top. No glass ceilings.
I want to start with current rosters but then allow anybody to travel the world. I want guys being draws everywhere.
Idk, it's a start at least.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
I'll probably add 6-10 edits per promotion for accuracy & fame, then dump the rest in Free Agents and let the AI promotions select their own wrestlers/fighters.
Give certain promotions higher rank/value than others, hopefully it will allow them to recruit the higher ranking edits.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
Just spent most of my night trying to bring Pancreas to number one in Final Fire Pro's MOTR mode. Even hired Goldberg. However, I went outta business.
Very fun mode however, and gives me good ideas.
I really hope you can switch between promotions however, similar to how you could switch between wrestlers at the end of every month in the original Smackdown game.
And the mode could really benefit from mothlong booking, I think at least.
And how are you gonna know which wrestlers are best for which style?

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
Ran an FMW promotion that seemed to be doing ok. I booked Onita vs Abby, and it got 99%. By month 8 I folded. This mode is really hard in FFP, I wonder how it will be in World. I can't wait.

In terms of the draft, if you want it to be random you can use this site:
https://www.miniwebtool.com/random-name-picker/
Each promotion can have a draft pick/order and the just let this tool pick wrestlers

Thanks. I'll have to give that a try.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
So here is what I've come up with for a WWE roster for the game. Not many tag teams because I'm playing with the idea of making trams like All Japan and grabbing a star and a lower guy as a team.
30 wrestlers sounds huge. I'm still probably cutting to 20. But that's just my WWE roster. Now I'm probably gonna tackle NJPW.
I've already started deleting edits as well in prep for this. I'm planning on redownloading the edits once I've found edits with full logic including 12 priorities. I had a massive roster back when we only had 3 priorities so need to update the entire group since I've saved all down to edits.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
I've removed Orton and added Rusev with WWE. I've also added New Japan and All Japan rosters.
NJPW
AJPW
I'm wondering how many titles you can give any promotion. Heavy, lightweight and tag seems possible. Also, I wish we could make a triple crown championship with three belts.

Re: Help booking my rosters for MOR
I've spent the last 2 days downloading guys and putting them in the right places. WWE is complete and I've started NJPW. Making sure the skills and parameters are good and the priorities are plentiful. I've yet to see anybody use all 12 priorities.
I'm really liking this process as I take time up front to make sure the edit is within what I believe they should be for stats and then making attires for them. Sometimes I copy over an attire from one edit to another or mix and match. Sometimes I make my own. Just finished making a SANADA attire from New Beginning. Taking a pic with my phone of each page (waist, chest, etc) has really sped up the copying over attires.

Re: Kikrusher99's Fire Promoter ideas
I've gotten a really solid base of most the big promotions. Very happy with the amalgamation of edits I have to use when Fire promoter shows up.
So I'm thinking I'll put Rusev in All Japan. Been watching the Champion Carnival and I'd say he'd fit in quite well.
I heard on the history of FMW podcast that Hayabusa was the first wrestler from an outside company to work All Japan while under FMW contact. Onita had to ask Giant Baba if he'd allow it as a favor to Arai because Onita wasn't working with FMW at the time but was trained by Baba.
Made me think about if Hayabusa had gone to All Japan and gone Heavyweight. Guess him and Misawa were drinking buddies. What if right?

My main universe will have three big companies: ZIP Japan, Royal Ring, and OCW HP.
My medium sized companies will be the determined later
