Typhoon Pro WAVE - Twitch Stream Gauntlet-based Edit Showcasing

Postby Dawnbr3ak3r » Wed Oct 04, 2017 7:35 pm

What is WAVE?

WAVE is intended to be used as a promotional tool while I am streaming.

I came up with the idea as a result of the Multiverse proper becoming less active over the past several weeks. If you're familiar with my streams or you watch my streams regularly, then you have a good idea of what to expect.

WAVE will be a creative showcase designed with sharing and critiquing each other's edits in mind.

The concept is to sim edits people are working on against randomly selected edits from a variety of users with a variety of styles. Matches are randomized and other viewers may have tips and tricks to help improve the edit. Does your edit do too many kicks than originally intended? Do they go for pin attempts more often or less often than intended? Is there a personality trait not getting through (IE: are they a deranged psychopath)? Things of that nature can be discussed while simming the edits.

WAVE will also function as a promotional grouping for creators.

Edits will be categorized here in the case that creators don't consider themselves or they aren't a member of the following: Multiverse Project, FPWA, or FPCPP - those kind of things. This is particularly for my Twitch viewers who don't use the Arena all that often.

WAVE will adhere to the same rules as the FPWA.

(The Multiverse adheres to the FPCPP/FPWA rules for those who aren't familiar.)

Each edit:

-Must have a maximum of 200 points overall.

Some guidelines:

Edits shouldn't have all 10s in the attributes - be logical when doing this. If your edit has a 10 in a parameter, it must be for a good reason and not "just because". Be conservative when using the triple skill abilities as they're very strong - Monster, Reborn, etc. Edits with Panther fighting style are not recommended due to the way the style functions.

-Must be an original creation.

"Original edit" means it's an original character you've created from your own imagination. This means that you cannot submit a real life wrestler to be used - IE: No Omega, Okada, Hogan, Mysterio, etc. Your original creation(s) may be based on any real life wrestler or based on anyone from another media as you wish, but cannot be an actual person that already exists. "This edit is a representation of me" is permitted, otherwise no.

-Should have strengths and/or weaknesses.

This is so the edits have their individual character and style. Examples: Do they have weak knees from a career of landing incorrectly on dives? Give them low leg health. Have they broken their neck or received multiple concussions and the last CRITICAL! could injure them permanently? Give them low head/neck health. Does a character get enraged when they're busted open and only then? Give them high recovery rates when they're bleeding, and low rating when they're not bleeding. Things of that nature.

-Should be designed to have entertaining matches.

This is pretty self-explanatory. Make your edit strong if you wish, but not intentionally strong, especially to defeat a certain edit with malicious intent. IE: "I think this person's edits are overpowered! I'm going to build all of my edits to dominate against them!" - Don't do this. If myself or other users deem an edit to be overpowered, balancing may be requested. All edits must perform as a professional wrestler (Edits with MMA/Boxing backgrounds are permitted). Typhoon Pro is considered a professional wrestling edit promotion.

-Should be designed to have entertaining matches.

ABSOLUTELY NO CEMENT STYLE EDITS ARE ALLOWED.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Regarding Custom Themes:
I'll be adding custom themes to my own edits as I see fit. If you have a particular theme in mind for your edit(s), please post in this thread with a link to said theme/song/etc, preferably with a timestamp (if applicable) and I'll do my best to edit it. Keep in mind that I'll be limiting them to no more than 30 seconds with Fade In - Fade Out effects.
Please be considerate when choosing themes. I'm going to be as lenient as possible, however I won't use themes that are overly vulgar in tone or use explicit language. If it doesn't adhere to Twitch or YouTube's policies, I won't use it. This is common sense really.
Regarding new edit uploads/updates:
If you have edits to share at any time while I'm offline (streaming specifically) feel absolutely free to post here with edits you want to share with the rest of the community and I will do my best to showcase them when the time comes.
If it doesn't interfere directly with my stream - If I've already got plans, I'm going to do what I intended to - I'll then download any new edits or updates during a break. Some stream sessions go longer than planned (6+ hour streams are never planned, 3 to 4 hours is the average).
May I introduce you to "Stiff" Cliff Johnson?
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... 1139642731
Yeah, Stiff Johnson - I couldn't resist. He's the head trainer for my White Rose Wrestling promotion. He's a cantankerous old vet that takes out his disenchanted view of flashy modern wrestling by being increasingly more snug with his throws and stiff with his strikes and stretch submissions.
He's designed to favour ground wear-down holds early in the match with more throws and match ending submissions later on. His preference is to elongate the punishment so does not try to win early but will do so unwittingly on occasion if he stretches his opponent a little too hard and he draws a critical.
I'm not quite happy with the length of his matches so far. His first sim was a 30 minute TLD that looked perfect but since then they have been 15 minutes on average win or lose. Also, he's not busted anyone open yet (I think because I've used chops and elbows primarily - but brawling-style punches and headbutts doesn't fit in with his clean but brutal theme) So I'd appreciate any feedback, particularly in these regards.
I might struggle to get onto your stream live but if you please let me know if you use him and I'll watch it from the archive to see if there's any constructive criticism.
This is my shooter edit, should fit in well with Cliffy-Stiffy above. He'll be a bit underpowered at 170pts but I'm okay with that.
If he's bottoming out, just let me know.
Got both of them. I'll try to keep the newcomer fights to the front end of the stream so I can highlight them in one go.
Tested out Kris' edits last night, as well as a few of Senator's new edits, Severla 2.0's edits.
I didn't get around to testing KingMob's edit as they weren't present when I asked.
Thanks for this. I ended up making a lot of changes to Cliff Johnson after your stream. Longer matches, more early ground work and a more natural fitting move set I think now.
I've added a short section on custom themes. I figured since I'm doing it for my edits that I should also do it for the edits I use often on stream as well.
Got themes listed for EVERY single active member of my roster now, on my main profile page, listed above, that should come in handy.
Here's a few you'll probably want:
Vice Versa
Theme: Diablo Rojo by Rodrigo y Gabriela, C.U.B.A.
Mina Fitsahrris
Theme: Jane Doe by Within Temptation
Hailey Comet
Theme: Gunpowder and Lead by Miranda Lambert
Valerie May
Theme: Star by The Roots
Francine Francis
Theme: Retreat! by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
Rumika Hashi
Theme: Chapter Doof from Mad Max: Fury Road
Themes for anyone else can be found in the topic, as I said.
Alright, Hana first then I'll work my way through Senator's with the edits I use most often getting priority.
Not sure if they'll be done tonight, but I'll make time for it this week certainly.
Haha!
It is in 2K. Entrances are short in FirePro, and I couldn't be bothered to edit the cover of the DuckTales theme to fit with it. So used her backup theme.
I ended up putting some themes here:
https://mega.nz/#F!roUAxQiK!Xh_ptehC4VPF1BI5NyR1Qw
I think that covers the ones you've added to your FPWorld save! They may need a little bit of volume tweaking and a couple may not have long enough of a period of silence added to the very start of the track, but they're all trimmed down to around 30-40 seconds max (I'm anal and wanted a less abrupt cutoff point, even though nobody'll ever hear it).
for the record, a listing of the tracks I upped
- Amir Al-Shafara: "Turn Down for Whammu? (Pillar Men Hype Theme)," a remix of Awaken from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, done by BotanicSage
- Death Head: The remix of "Unstoppable Nemesis" from Ultimate MVC3 as arranged by Hideyuki Fukasawa
- HANZOU: "Maguro no Keshin," Galford's theme from Samurai Shodown IV and V
- Johnny Morris: "Wild Street," the Fatal Fury team theme from KOF13
- Mascara Avispa: "Shissou no Accel" by Koutarou Nakagawa, from the Kamen Rider W soundtrack
- Michael White: "crosswise" by T.M.Revolution, theme song of Sengoku BASARA
- Misery Graves: Juri's theme from Super SF4
- Rakshasa: "KILLING MOON" from SF3 Third Strike
- Selene Ciel: "MAXON" by JAM PROJECT, theme of Super Robot Taisen OG: The Inspectors
- Victoria Frey: "Doll Eyes," Cammy's theme from SFA3
The edits in question SHOULD be updated on Steam's workshop!
I finished editing and importing all of Hana's themes this morning.
I'm probably gonna do Maikeru's next since they're all edited and stuff before I do the rest.
There's a few others, but I don't remember all of the names. If I see them then I'll remember the names. I know Hitchcock has popped up in a few battle royals lately, so there's at least one.
Carl Zilla and Kiyoshi Takada also have their respective themes. I had to really work with Takada's theme to get the entire chorus in, but I got it.
I didn't bother listing the ones for the edits that don't see much use. Kileas, Tasharun, Binak, those guys don't see much action (and in the case of the first two, are probably gonna be tweaked in the future anyway), but I'll add them in if you want 'em.
Jesus that list turned out longer than I expected it to, now I feel bad. x.x
As a preventative measure, I'm stating as of today that streams may be intermittent until I can figure out what the heck is going on with my connection.
I've tried just about everything, barring contacting my ISP to figure this out, and nothing seems to make a difference.
Who knows. Maybe it is the weather playing havoc - I doubt it, however.
