It's finally warm here. Snow has been gone for about a month but it has stayed cold until today. Went out to do my morning 6 mile set and three steps out had to turn around and put my winter coat back on the rack. Also took the clippers to my hair and beard finally.

I knew that a hurricane had moved through Houston but I just now saw the visual on the flooding.

I sincerely wish the best of safety for anyone here who lives or has family/friends in the area.

Truly horrible stuff

Finally the misery of boiling humid summer is over. For about the last week we've been getting early fall temperatures, so much so that the leaves have already started changing color. I consider this the perfect temperature, but we're only a few months away from snow again now. While everyone at work is finishing up using their vacation time throughout the summer I am getting closer to my winter vacation.

It definitely felt like Fall today, in this, September 1, one of the unofficial starts of the season.
Get your Hanes on, lace up your Nikes, grab your Wheaties and your Gatorade and we'll pick up a Big Mac on the way to the ball park.

First Harvey, now Irma and then possible another hurricane behind it might also hit the US and a 8.4 earthquake south of Mexico. A lot of crazy weather happening lately

Irma a Cat 5 again, if it makes landfall at Cat 5 it's been about 25 years since the last land falling Cat 5 has hit the US which was hurricane Andrew in 1992, also hit FL.
Even a if it isn't a Cat 4 is just as bad, hope all those people stay safe and there's not any lose of life

I hope everyone in the path of the storm gets the heck out of there and stays safe. This does not sound promising.

Hurricane season is why I live where the air hurts my face.

Usually we don't get hit with hurricanes. We get some heavy rain which leads to floods and crappy driving conditions, and because I live in the mountains, dirt roads get all messed up because of the water or landslides. Thanks for wishes.

Just checking in to let everyone know that the Great Californian Conflagration of 2017 hasn't burned me to death yet. Mandatory evacuations are getting worryingly close to town, though, and I can't post to these forums from my phone.

I hope that you, as well as everyone from Cali, stay safe, UIG 8-)

I've seen some pictures of the California sky and it looks like the end times. The skies are bleeding.

The reason I took my vacation in February is because it's usually the stormiest month of the winter here, but so far we've had snow twice which melted within 24 hours and aside from a few cold days it's pretty much been spring with today being the warmest yet. I can actually go do my walks today without a winter coat on.

I went out with no coat on. It's 70+ here in Massachusetts.

Yep, I'm in Rhode Island, was running around in shorts and a t-shirt all day. In February.

It's 75 degrees. Tonight, it's 40 degrees. Last week, the Ohio River flooded us in. Now more rain and snow.

No consistency whatsoever and my sinuses hate it.

So sick of this damn Missouri winter. As I recall, the grass was starting to green up at this time last year, but today there's ice on the sidewalks and the ground is a muddy, slushy mess. March can't get here soon enough.

Well, the winter weather seems back to normal. Bad news though is the Ohio River may flood again if the rain forecast holds up.

Just me on my little island for now.
