Top marks all around for that main event on 205 Live tonight.

This has been such a damn good week for wrestling.

To be fair, Rockstar Spud is an all time awful wrestler name.

The name change doesn't bother me conceptually, though I'd be lying if I said I kinda wished it was a bit less 1970's porn star.

Just checked out an Impact in 60 (fight network up hurr in Canuckistan has hour-long features on different fighting and wrestling promotions, usually focused on one particular competitor) featuring Low Ki. One match was from TNA days for the X division title and featured Low Ki, AJ Styles, and JERRY LYNN! The older I get, the more I think the the Ministry of Truth is the real deal, or maybe I'm just forgetting shit more these days, but seeing Low Ki and Jerry Lynn in the ring was like finding ten bucks you didn't know you had in an old jacket you haven't used in a few years. It was really cool to see those guys in the ring even if the match was a bit disjointed and a bit of a "me next" spot fest, you could see AJ putting his game together for where he's at now, Low Ki doing his in ring homage to NJPW/AJPW's 90's rosters, and Jerry Lynn, even though he was definitely moving a bit slower by that point, still hangin' and keeping up with those other two maniacs. It wasn't the best match, but it was cool to have Low Ki and Jerry Lynn, two guys I enjoyed watching in the past, brought back to the front end of my memory again! :)

All Japan announced a streaming service last night. No date was announced but some are reporting possible march release, which would be before the Champion Carnival. It will cost 900 yen per month, and include live shows.

No clue if it would include older all All Japan content, as that's not owned by Jun Akiyama, but by NTV.

Spoiler: show

They also announced the participants in the Champion Carnival.

That's a solid CC lineup. Might actually shell out for the service since they've come a long way back since Akiyama took over.

Just FYI if you're not aware: Apparently the RealHero Archive has been slammed by DMCA notices the last little while and it looks like the Archive is going to go down in 2-4 weeks. So download the puro while you can. :(

Beat me to it. Sad, but anybody that's hunted down puro over the years knew it was a matter of time.

It's a pity really. There's some great wrestling going on in other feds than NJPW and the Archive was a perfect place to check it out. Hopefully they'll come up with an alternative in the near future.

Sadly, I think the only real way to avoid things such as DMCA takedowns is to just make torrents that float about in the interwebs so they're not just consolidated in one place.

Since the realhero archive is dying, they've created something new. I'm just finding this, more info to come. I've read its compatible with ps4 and Chromecast though.

Puroresu Dream

Update: I can't get anything to load. I've tried my phone and both my ps3 and ps4. Seems like others aren't having issues. Not sure what's causing it. Also I've already got 3 porn pop ups so be warned.

Since I bitched about WWE a lot, I feel like in the interest of fairness I should also say that despite me being fairly hyped about it going in that Hirooki Goto vs EVIL match was hugely disappointing.

Felt like they booked it to be a format of match the direct opposite of the style they both specialize in.

Randomly ended up watching SD1 and 2 finishers today when I noted that Test's finisher in these games was a gutwrench powerbomb.

I never remembered him doing this (although I did remember him doing a Spinning Bomb) so I found a list of most of his signature moves (which I actually remembered most of because I freaking loved the guy).

After watching the video though.... JESUS CHRIST Mr. Martin had BFMS in a notable way, but damn if they werent actually pretty crisp. Still sad that his run against/with Steiner was so bad (he was SO out of shape) and his WWECW run died horribly because of a bad promo (because jesus he was so IN shape).

Yeah, Test was a lot of fun to watch.

Off the top of my head, he had an excellent:

Falling gutwrench powerbomb
Pumphandle powerslam
Side slam (like just as good as prime Kane)
Diving Elbow Drop (2nd best ever in WWE after the Man himself)
THE BEST BIG BOOT IN THE HISTORY OF THE BUSINESS

He was tall enough to be classified as a giant and power guy but he really didn't move like one.

Literally a Japanese finisher on an American guy. One of the best strike finishers ever, easily. Still sad I cheered him to do it at a WWECW house show and he just looked at me blankly and said 'fuck off' lmao. He was in his TKO phase.

His early Rolling Cutter was good but he heavily used it in the Steiner phase and made it look pretty bad. He also did a pretty tilt a whirl slam.

He was tall enough to be classified as a giant and power guy but he really didn't move like one.

Its because he had a super athletic build and not quite a powerhouse one in his prime run, almost like if 2000 Triple H could move more like 2000 Rock (and slightly taller than both) but they usually had him play the powerhouse role due to the height and he didnt compare to most of the other giants at the time (like Kane when he was stupidly jacked). Then when he came back in ECW he was HUGE but it's stated that he muffed a promo, failed a drug test, then asked for his release.

Sad because 2007 ended up on its head so badly that he may have had a recovering and ended up in a strong spot. Though we did at least get John Morrison out of the unfortunate year end events which also later allowed Miz to find his voice.
