So I've been sitting on Tekken 7 for a month after having bought it on sale for half price (Yay Prime Day) and have finally done more than a bit of practice. I actually really like the gameplay, like more than I have any Tekken since T5. The presentation is all over the place though and generally subpar for a current gen console fighter, particularly one of Tekken's renown. Pretty obvious cash in on the name imo. Probably going to be a moonlight and go back to SFV and Injustice 2.

Killer Instinct is now available on Steam, and is on sale through the 5th, I think. I snapped it up asap, wanted to play it for a long time, but didn't want to have to get an XBone just for that.

Tekken 7 NJPW Update

So now Lars gets a Tanahashi outfit along with his theme playing (and his rage art becomes the Slingblade).

Currently only planned for japanese arcades. Going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it will eventually be on console in all regions....because thats a baffling decision otherwise.

Which reminds me I still have to pick up the Tekken 7 season pass at some point. I'm hoping it will go on sale or get a PS+ discount at some point in the future, that's the only reason I have been holding off.

Also, Freiza's saucer projectile can hurt him when it boomerangs back.

Maximilian had partial translations pulled up for these two.

Apparently Nappa is going to be the slowest character on roster but hit like a freight train. He also has a Saibaman attack.

Ginyu has the body switch and summons in the rest of the Ginyus.

Who wants a free copy of Skullgirls? I ended up buying four copies. I thought '4-pack' meant some DLC addons. Oh well.

First three to message me on Steam (OctoberRaven) gets a copy each.

One copy left! In 24 hours I'll just pass it to someone on my friends list who doesn't already have it.

I've never tried a DB fighting game. I've always beed interested, but when you're trying to jump in for the first time and want a good representation of what the series should be all about, it's easy to get pulled down into the inevitable online slog of which game is best. I usually just give up and forget the games exist after reading a few "version X is the best because..." and "version X is the WORST because..." posts/reviews. In the Arena's opinion, where's a good place to start if I was considering dabbling in the DB fight universe?

If you like traditional fighting games, then FighterZ. The others are typically open-arena style fighters with free form movement.

Wow, just checked a video, lazy reading on my part, Arc System Works is in the driver's seat for this one (nice nod to them landing such a storied franchise, Fist of the Northstar next please!!!)! I've always liked Guilty Gear, so I'd likely be interested in this one. The clips I checked out look amazing!

Mr. Head Drop, please think of DBFZ as more of the successor to Marvel than MVC: Infinite is.

Oh shit! I forgot about that game! Well, they need to do another one already, one that looks even marginally as good as the DBZ game! Thanks for the nostalgia trip! :)

Indeed, DBZF is the true successor to Marvel vs Capcom. And it's not even a Capcom game.

I have never loved guest characters, especially in NRS fighters, but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look like fanservice DLC done excellently.
